• Powesco to fund energy efficiency solutions for renovation projects in tertiary buildings

across France through long term contracts

• WSC to acquire controlling stake in Powesco and exclusively fund its Energy

Efficiency-as-a-Service (ESCO) projects

Zug, November 20, 2024 – White Summit Capital, a specialised energy transition infrastructure investor and manager, has reached an agreement to invest €150 million in energy efficiency- as-a-service projects through Powesco, a French platform.

Led by industry leader Aurélie Gaudillère, who brings more than a decade of proven success and deep industry expertise, Powesco enjoys a large existing blue-chip client base with audited capex programmes to be delivered by an experienced and fully fledged team of 60 professionals.

Powesco is strategically positioned to seize a €40 billion market opportunity, driven by French regulations requiring buildings over 1,000m² to reduce energy consumption by 60% by 2050.

The platform will offer funded energy efficiency-as-a-service solutions for renovation projects in tertiary buildings across France. With an attractive long-term service contract model, Powesco allows private companies and public administrations to dramatically reduce their consumption without the burden of upfront capital requirements, ensuring both financial and environmental sustainability.

This landmark investment, which will see WSC acquiring a controlling stake in Powesco, is part of the mandate of WDIF II, WSC’s decarbonization infrastructure fund. The agreement has been signed, subject to customary approvals, with closing expected in early 2025.

Aurélie Gaudillère, CEO of Powesco commented: “Partnering with White Summit Capital is an opportunity to leverage their proven expertise in scaling infrastructure businesses. By adding funding capabilities to our existing integrated model, we are well-equipped to deploy significant capital, create long-term value for our clients and play a crucial role in France’s energy transition.”

Gonzalo López Medina, Managing Partner at WSC, added: “This partnership exemplifies our dedication to advancing the energy transition by collaborating with a team of exceptional professionals to become differentiated early movers in emerging market opportunities. We look forward to working closely with our partners to support France’s sustainability objectives, fostering innovation and growth in the energy efficiency sector.”
